King Higginbottom family South Australia

My name is Peter Higginbotom. I am searching for descendants of the marriage of Fanny Higginbottom and Alfred Wake King. Fanny was born 4 Nov 1862 in Kadina South Australia. Her parents were Clifford Richard & Adeline Mary. Alfred was born 30 May 1862 in Nairne South Australia. They were married 13 Aug 1884 in St John Anglican Church in Auburn South Australia. They had 5 children Gertrude Myrtle, Stella Blanche, Emily Maude, Alfred Glanville and Vinetta Thelma. A deceased relative of the Higgibottom family had passed on to another person infomation which showed the King's had moved to W.A. Quite by accident I stumbled on the Shep's Place web site and found the King family. I am using this forum to see if I can make a connection to a living relative. I am a grand-son of Albert Higginbottom who was one of Fanny's brothers. I am currently doing my family tree history.

king/Higginbottom family

Hi Peter, I am a descendant of the King family and am new to Sheps place. I believe from family records that Alfred and Fanny went to WA.  Alfred died in 1954 in  Brookton.  I don't have any living contacts but Maude's daughter Dorothy Montgomery married a Mr Wheeler in 1948 and they had two children  - Janice and Robert.  That may be a starting point by looking at electoral roles for a Robert Wheeler.  I believe that Alfred and Fanny also had a son Ernest .  He is the eldest of the family and married in 1912.  I do have some other sketchy info on that family but hope this helps with your quest to 'find your family' Best wishes........Lesley

Hi Lesley,I am a descendant of the King Family too.Alfred is my Greatgrandfather and Fanny my Greatgrandmother.Gertrude Myrtle my Grandmother and Maxwell Francis my Father.I have been looking for the relationship of Montgomery to Dad for a while now. I have finally found that connection with the help from you and Peter.Any help you need I will try my best to answer.I still don't know who Dad's Father was.Unknown on his Birth Certificate!!You are right about the records regarding Brookton.All the best....Stevan

I have, Gertrude Myrtle King's birth certificate , I am a descendant of Ernest William King. My father is, Harold Glanville Ernest King,  born 19th March 1918.
