Freda M. Barcus

Freda Mae Barcus, 77, Rt. 4, Gallipolis, died Saturday at University Hos pital in Columbus. She retired from Gallipolis Developmental Center in 19 77.
Born Sept. 9, 1913 in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late Th omas A. and Rena Mae ‎(Cottrell)‎ Boggs.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, H. Homer Barcus in 1964, o ne daughter, Ruth Ann Brewer, and one brother, Marshall Boggs.
Surviving are three sons, James A. Barcus of Maryville, Tenn., Lucian Eu gene Barcus of Athens, and Palmer Ray Barcus of Orlando, Fla; three sister s, Anna Fink of Middleport, Margaret Utt of Anderson, Ind., and Erma Gre en of Gallipolis, two brothers, James Boggs of Hawthorne, Fla., and Charl es Thomas Boggs of Proctorville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildr en; and a special friend, Charlie Baker.
She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and the United Me thodist Women. She was past-president of the VFW Ladies Auxillary.
Services will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. at the Christ United Methodist Chur ch with the Rev. Rick Vilardo. Burial will be at the Mina Chapel Cemetery .
Friends may call Monday, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Willis Funeral Home.
