The main subject for the paper is Robert Lowth (1710-1787), Hebrew scholar, grammarian and, from 1777 onwards, Bishop of London. Lowth is credited with having written one of the most authoritative English grammars of the eighteenth century (1762). But he was preceded by John Ash (1724-1779), who had published a grammar called Grammatical Institutes for his five-year-old daughter in 1760.
This article suggests that Anna was born during or before 1755 depending on the delays of publishing in those days.
