Note: Gordon was about 16 when the family left Jamestown for Trundle, N.S.W. Like his two brothers he decided against farming and took on clerical work after living something of a roving life. He enlisted in the first A.I.F. at Sydney and served in France, returning safely.
Gordon resided at Strathfield, N.S.W. and was employed by the Metropolitan Meat Company at Homebush in the accounting department His wife was a keen business woman and had an electrolisis business at Sydney. Later she and Gordon took over the guest house started by her father at Sussex Inlet on the South Coast of N.S.W and turned it into a thriving concern. She was held in great affection by the family of Allen John and Gladys and they were often her guests at Sussex Inlet. By 1984 she had retired from her guest house but remained living in the locality. She was several years younger than Gordon but by then was in her 80's. Nothing further is known of Thora.
