Note: Melville was still a school boy of 14 when the family left Wolseley in 1908 for N.S.W. He later worked with his father at "The Pines", Grenfell, until he enlisted in the First A.I.F. in 1917 and served in France. He returned home in 1919 and took up land on his own account at Mudgee, N.S.W. but after eight years this venture failed. He then took the position of manager of "Ameroo Station", Orange and was still managing there when he died in 1957.
