Dr. W.B. Guthrie Wishes to inform the Public that he has so far recovered as to be able to do office and prescription business, and may be seen at all times at his residence. July 11th, '88
Drs. Guthrie & Prose. In consequence of the continued illness of Dr. Guthrie, he has associated with himself in practice Dr. T.W. Prose (late of Wilkesville), and during the illness of the former the latter can be found at the office in the building formerly occupied by Capt. J.W. Dale, on Second street, near the Railroad Crossing. August 29th, '88
Note: In the 1880 census Wesley, 45, is a physician. His wife Salina, 31, has "dyspepsia" as noted in a column mentioning any physical ailments. Their four children are Charles, nine, William six, Martha five and Anna three. Also in the household are Wesley's father Francis Guthrie and his niece, Alice C. Guthrie, 21, who is an assistant housekeeper.
Military Service
Note: Wesley Guthrie served in the Civil War; however, his discharge papers were lost.
He had no disability as a result of his service.
Wesley died before the 1890 special census but it did mention his widow "Sylvia M. Guthrie" whose correct name was "Selina M. Guthrie".
