Note: Norman graduated from Wheeling High School, then he took sick and died. They found that when he was five years old, he had been bitten by a rabid dog. [Was that a contributing cause of death so many years afterwards?]
Note: Norman Brown, aged seventeen years, son of M.E. Brown and wife, former residents of Hartford, W.Va., died at McMechen, after three weeks' illness on last Friday morning and the remains were brought here Sunday and after funeral service held at the residence of M.D. Brown at 2 o'clock Monday conducted by his pastor, Rev. Cotton from McMechen, were interred in Brown cemetery. In addition to the immediate family of the deceased the following relatives from a distance were here to attend the funeral; Mrs. Elizabeth Eggenschwiller and daughters, Misses Amy, Sarah, and son Charles; and Miles Brown, of McMechen; E.E. Eisenbarth, of Marietta; George Brown and wife, of Kenova; Harry Brown and wife, of Chillicothe; Marlin Brown, of Parkersburg, and friends Rev. Cotton and Mrs. Reynolds of McMechen.
