Note: Hugh purchased the store in Mercersville, Guyan Tp., about 1856. He was born on the old Peter S. Niday place about three miles back of Mercerville. In 1933 the store was operated by his son Ben.

Gardner and John Holcomb as a Committe to arrange by Laws where upon those present took the oath of Peseribea by the league and then adjourned to Meet at 2 oclock on the Next Saturday at which time the by laws will be made.
