Note: In the 1841 English census taken in Lamerton, Devon, William 40 years was farming with the help of two men. His wife, Ann 30 years,was very busy with six children under the age of 12: Roger 12, Richard ten, Mary and Jemima (twins) eight, Harriet six, and Ann two.
In the 1851 census Anna at 46 years had eight children at home to cook for and clothe.
The Percys sailed to South Australia on the "Thomas Arbuthnot", arriving in 1855. William, who was in his fifties at that time, worked as a labourer. The family settled in Gawler, South Australia.
