Lona's Sheets grandparents ‎(John Sheets and Susan Henry)‎ came to Gallia County, Ohio, from Virginia about 1816 and farmed in Guyan township.

Her father had been married before to Mahala Fowler, who died after having eight children. Her father then married Sarah Sanders who had eight more children. When Lona was born in 1881 her oldest half-sister was about 35 years old.

On 28 July 1900, Lona married Alva Radar Fellure, a young man who also grew up in Guyan township.

By 1910 we learn from the census that Alva was 32 years old and Lona 29. They were farming on George's Creek Road in Guyan township. Their children were Irvin eight, Edith six, Thelma H. three and Vergie. Lona's mother, Sarah Sheets, was living with them. She was 72 years old and a widow.

Alva's brother "Zachria" aged 23 was also in their home.

Bu 1920, Alva was 41 years and Lona was 38. They had six children at home: Irvin L. 18 ‎(farm laborer)‎, Edith M. 16, Thelma 13, Virgie ten, Jewel P. seven, Lillie three years and seven months, and toddler Garrett who was two years and four months old.

Alva died in 1934 aged 55 years; but Lona lived for another 42 years, dying in 1976 aged 94 years.
