Note: Jemima married James Boase at the "Private Home of James Read, Gumeracha." The witnesses were John Blue, blacksmith of Gumeracha and Mary Edwards of Wasleys. On the certificate it says that Jemima is 20 years and James Boase is 25.
Note: Jemima was about 21 years old when she married James Boase at Gumeracha, where James' brother-in-law, the Revd. James Read lived.
James Read was married to Martha Boase, sister of James Odgers Boase.
Jemima and James had been married for just over ten years when James died, aged 38 years old.
After James' death in 1884, Jemima and her daughter stayed on in Nairne where Jemima worked as a diarywoman to support herself and Sarah. Later in life Jemima joined Sarah and her family in Murray Bridge, where she died in 1925 when she was about 72 years old.
Jemima, James O., their daughter Sarah and her husband Harry Champion are buried in the Nairne cemetery.
