Hide Details Note: Harriete and Robert were married at the residence of Mr Is ‎(?)‎ Blake at Smithfield, District of Munno Para West in South Australia. Both signed. Witnesses were G H Sim, Grocer of Hindmarsh and Emilie Linn of Hindmarsh. Emilie was the bride's sister. Robert Newton was living at Port Pirie at the time of their wedding. Perhaps Smithfield was halfway between Port Pirie and Hindmarsh, where Harriette lived!

Harriette aged 66 died on January 8, 1912 at the home of her mother, McCarron Street ‎(Coglin Street)‎, Carrondown. Her usual residence was Broken Hill, New South Wales. The death registration says that she was "Wife of Robert Richard Newton Carpenter."

Harriette's mother, for whom she was named, had died only five days before at the age of 96.
