Note: William Pearce was a silversmith and goldsmith in Plymouth. He was also a deacon of the Baptist meeting house in Plymouth. We do not know the name of his wife and the mother of his children. When his wife died, he sent his son, Samuel, (and possibly his older brother) to Tamerton Foliot to be cared for by his grandparents. When Samuel was about eight years old, William brought him back to Plymouth.
