Mrs. Martha Niday, passed away Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Grube, in Groveport. She had been ill since late in the fall, when she suffered a severe shock in an auto accident, while enroute to the home of her daughter Mrs. Grube, from a visit with her son in Columbus. Mrs. Niday was 83 years old and resided in this county all her life. Her maiden name was McCall and she is the last of her family. Five children survive, Chauncey, of Columbus, Wil, of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. John Grube, of Groveport, Mrs. Buell Russell and Victor Niday of this city. The remains will arrive here Friday on the noon train and will be taken to her late home on Third ave., from where the funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m., Rev. A.H. Beardsley officiating. Funeral arrangements are in charge of George J. Wetherhold and Sons.
Note: Martha K. Nida, Soldier's widow, died Feb. 27 1929. Her guardian was her grandson Paul Niday. She was declared incompetent on August 23, 1926 by her children: Blanche Russell dau Gallipolis, Pearl Grube of Grove Port, Victor J. Niday of Gallipolis, Chauncey G. Nida of Columbus, William L. Nida of San Diego and Edith Nida dau-in-law of Gallipolis.
