Note: It is probable that Amos was accompanied to Australia with another Cousin, Richard Langman. The most likely is that he travelled aboard the ship "Sultana". This ship came to S.A. on about 7 occasions with immigrants from the UK. On at least one trip, no passengers were recorded. He called his horse at the time "Sultana".
[As an aside, on 28 Sep 1849 the "Sultana" was wrecked off what is now known as Sultana Point south of Edithburgh, SA. A number of passengers arrived in Adelaide over the next few weeks. On 27 Apr 1857 its namesake, the barque "Sultana" was wrecked off Robe, SA.]
Amos Amos was registered in the 1851 Census, living with his Father, John, and Brother in "Trewallet", near Lezant, Carnwall.
Amos is first known to be in Salisbury SA, in September 1855. He leased a Brewery, come Hotel, on that date. It is possible that he worked in this industry in Cornwall, as his close relatives the Pearses operated this type of business in Launceston, and at least South Petherwin (Cornwall).
