Note: Theodore was one of five boys and one girl (Mary) in the family of Amos and Mariah Waugh, who lived in Ohio township. Their post office address was South North Castle! Theodore and Mary Sowards married at Swan Creek on April 1, 1869.
By 1870 Theodore 22 years and Mary M. also 22 had a baby boy named Elzy R. who was three months old. They lived in Ohio township, and their post office was Mercerville.
Before the 1880 census, Mary had died and Theodore had remarried Rachel with whom he had four more children: Mamie M. 1872, George A. 1873 and Wilbert H. 1876. Ten years later Cora was born.
In the 1900 federal census, Theodore Davis Waugh, 56 years, and wife Rachael, 54 years, had four children living at home. Two of the children were Rachael's by a previous marriage: Malcolm Augell or Ansell 20 (April 1880)and Albert 17 (April 1883). Both were farm laborers.
Theodore's occupation was "stonemason."
In 1910 we find that they are living on Mercerville Road in Ohio township, where Theodore, 62 years, is a farmer. Rachel is 64 years. They have one child at home, Cora J., who is 24 years old.
In the 1920 census Theodore 72 years and Rachel 74 years are on their own. There are no children or grandchildren in their household in Ohio township.
Ten years later in the 1930 federal census we find that Rachel has died; and Theodore 82 years, a general farmer, is living with his daughter Cora J. Waugh Davis 44 years and her husband John 54 years in Harrison township. John was also a general farmer. John's sister Mary 50 years was also in the household.
