Family Notes | 26 October 2006 (3 years after death) South Australia, Australia
Note: Helen was a very close friend of the Muller family, so much so that I included her as an "adopted" daughter although I was not diligent enough to explain the background. Anyway on 26 Oct 2006 shepsplace.net received the following email from Heather Hall:
"I recently came across your website after doing a google search on my stepmother, Helen McColl nee Fuhlbohm who married my father Reg McColl. A couple of things need to be changed due to their inaccuracy-
Helen is the daughter of Theodor Johannes Fuhlbohm (deceased) a Lutheran Minister from Waikerie S.A. Her mother was Helene Margarithe Quast(deceased) and not of Wilbur (Bill) and Betty Muller.
Uncle Bill and Aunty Bet as I knew them as a child were very close friends of Helen's. She nursed their daughter Bonnie till she passed on and because of this close and very personal contact due to the situation, she became very close to the family. I have very many happy memories visiting them at Tidsworth Cres. The last time I saw them, was at the 1st Hawthorn Scout Group reunion in the early 1990's. Bill and Rodney were heavily involved with the group at an earlier time and I was a current Cub Leader.
I hope that this information helps,
Heather Hall"
A follow up email was received on 27 Oct 2006 providing further information about Helen's family.
"Wendy, Helen's daughter to Reg is now married and with two children. Stuart their adopted son, is a Police officer with SAPOL, separated with a son and daughter. Christine has twice married and no children and happily single and divorved x2. Me - well I'm divorced, two children and two grandchildren. That's a quick synopsis. When I can I'll try to get some photos and give you more solid information.
I was about seven when Chris and I came over to Adelaide to live. I remember Marion, by chance did you work for Shell etc? or was it Rodney? I have a faint memory concerning Marion, the City and I think you, lets face it I'm now 46 and my memory has Granny moments/ grey matter moments!!. Did you live in the Eden hills area? Memory jigsaw pieces keep floating in and out. I'll pin down Stuart and see what I can put together as Wendy is interstate, we're not in contact and she is about to go to the USA with her airforce husband for 3 years.
Heather"
