Note: Burnett's first name was Roscoe. He was named for Roscoe Houck, known as Rossie Houck, who was with Ezra at the time of the sawmill explosion at Ruby. Rossie lived to be very old. Rossie may have been a school teacher.
Note: page 3: While Burnett Niday still remained critically ill Tuesday morning, he seemed a little stronger, was the report at Holzer hospital, concerning his condition.
On the front page of the paper a headline stated, Lindbergs Yet Hopeful Their Baby Is Safe. (re the kidnapping of their 20-month old baby girl)
Burnett Niday, who has been a patient at the Holzer Hospital for the past seven weeks has so far recovered as to be removed to his house Sunday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Burnett of near Mercerville were here Sunday visiting their daughter, Mrs. Golda Niday and family.
Note: Mr. Burnette Niday is here for a visit with his sisters, Mrs. Frank Robinson and Mrs. Harold Brown. Mr. Niday, who is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Niday, was married on January 11 to Mrs. Kathleen Lewis of Vanceburg, Ky., who will join him here in a few days.
Gallipolis--Roscoe D. [should be B] (Doc) Niday, 62, of 3236 1/2 Gallia St., New Boston, died in Portsmouth at 6:20 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Niday, a retired restaurant operator, was born April 12, 1910, in Gallipolis, son of the late Ezra and Goldie Burnett Niday. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Harris Niday; one stepson Domar Lewis, Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Robinson, and Mrs. Harold (Eloise) Brown, both of Gallipolis. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Wilson Wahl officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home between 7 and 9 p.m. on Monday.
