Note: William Bickford Pepperell was a saddler by trade and traced by Directory (earliest mention 1872) was plying his trade at Mill Street, Adelaide, and a year or two later was at Sturt Street, Adelaide. By 1882 he was at Caltowie as was William Henry Shillabeer and continued there for a number of years. By 1900 he was conducting business at Unley Road, Unley with his residence "Churchstow", at Bartley Crescent, North Unley. There is a village called Churchstow in Devonshire, so that is possibly where William was born. He died there aged 76 years on 10 Jan 1910 and his wife was at this house for some years afterwards. She died 1916 aged 81.
