Note: Bessie was a young bride, aged 27 years. She and husband Hubert C. Niday 34 years were living in the household of her husband's father, Hugh Caldwell Niday, who was 84 years old.
Also in this household were her husband's brother Frank 42 years and his sister, brother-in-law and nephew, Alphonzene, Salathiel and Stanley Williams.
Note: According to Melba Thornton (Dec. 16, 1978), Joe Niday killed himself on Thornton's farm in the smokehouse because he was so unhappy about leaving Mercerville.
