Note: Registered as Allan instead of the Allen of his grandfather, his father Hugh being unaware of the spelling of Allen Wilson. Allan was 17 on arrival at "The Pines" from South Australia. In 1914 he enlisted in the First A.I.F. and served at both Gallipoli and in France before transferring to the Royal Airforce in England, then called the Royal Flying Corps.
On his return to Australia he went into partnership with a Gordon Bradley at Nimitabel, N.S.W. valued at that time at 20,000 pounds. After several years, the partnership proving unsuccessful it was dissolved.
From 1946 onward Allan managed the millionaire Mitchells' estate "Towong Hill", Corryong, Upper Murray, Victoria and he and Marjorie retired from there to Tenterfield. N.S.W. following the 1967 birth of the quintuplet grandchildren, to a house only one street away from their daughter Pat. In 1973. In poor health, Allan continued at the Tenterfield house alone, until he died in 1980.
