Note: Allister enlisted in the Third Light Horse, 1st A.I.F. W.W.1. The early part of his married life was spent in the country as an employee of the Commercial Bank of South Australia. When at Adelaide he owned and resided at 29 Marion Street, Unley. He later worked as a clerk at the Repatriation Department. While in the country his mother and sisters had lived at the Unley house and when Allister required it again left eventually for Duthy Street, Malvern until 1940. He and Irene retired to Port Noarlunga. A photograph of Allister and his first wife Lucy in the possession of E.M.S. was sent by her to his younger son Ted in the 1960s. He did not have a picture of any kind of his mother until then.
