Birth:14 February 18862823 -- Opie Street, Evandale, South Australia, Australia Death:28 April 1969 (Age 83) -- Saint Romans Private Hospital, Armadale, Victoria, Australia
Note: Harold was educated at East Adelaide Primary School, the School of Mines, Adelaide and Roseworthy Agricultural College (tertiary standard). For some years he was at the Kybybolite Agricultural Research in the south east of South Australia before taking up an appointment in 1912 at the State Research Farm, Werribee, Victoria where he was manager for 38 years. His own grazing property near Werribee was called "Manor Park". He retired to 225 Watton Street, Werribee in 1950. His letter to E.M.S. dated 17 Jun 1962 when Harold was aged 76 mentions that his property of 3.300 acres, five miles north west of Werribee, was then being managed by his son Guy, who wrote in 1969 to tell of his father's death and said he had been appointed executor of Harold's estate and had put "Manor Park" farm up for auction, and he hoped to be the successful bidder. It was established in 1840 by Elsie's Beamish great grandfather as a pre-emptive selection. He was the third white man to settle in the district and the ruins of the original blue stone homestead could still be seen on the bank of the Lollypop Creek. Guy was apparently unsuccessful in purchasing "Manor Park" Farm.
