Note: Clarissa Spence married George Chapman on 6 September 1994 at the residence of M[anuel] Spence at Nairne. Both signed. Witnesses were Albert Chapman, carpenter, Nairne, and Annie Spence, Nairne. [They were the brother of the groom and sister of the bride.]
Note: "Deep regret has been occasioned by the death of Mrs George Chapman of Nairne. After a very short illness she was, on 9th instant, put under a serious operation by three doctors, and although she appeared to come through alright she soon afterwards began to sink, and passed away early on Monday morning. The deceased was greatly respected by all who knew her and was beloved by her intimate friends.
She was born at Nairne 47 years ago and had resided in the district continuously. She was the elder daughter of the late Mr Samuel Spence of Nairne.
The surviving members of the family are the husband, one son (Mr Roy Chapman) and 3 daughters (Misses Beryl, Una and Thelma Chapman). The funeral, which took place on Tuesday, was very largely attended. The Rev T Flood conducted the service at the graveside."
