Note: 1861: Palmer 32 and Fanny 27 were living at 8 Baker Street, Reading. They had three sons: George Palmer five, Frederick W. two and Arthur one. Visiting the family was Palmer's brother George Ambrose Townshend 41 years old. There were two domestic servants.
1871: The Townshends had moved to Bristol. Palmer 42 was a merchant, who had been born in Rutland, Uppinghamn. His wife Fanny 37 had been bon in Hull, Yorkshire. They had seven children: Frederick W. 12, Arthur 11, Ernest nine, Edith eight, Caroline six, Alice four and Harry one. Also in the household were a governess 19 yrs and two domestic servants of whom Margaret A. Evans 16 was born in India.
