Note: Martin's death certificate says that he was born in Mason County. If it is true that his father, Major Brown, had been in WV (Va) for 45 years at the time of his death in 1887, then Martin could well have been born in Mason Co. WV. It gives his occupation: pilot. He was 51 years old when he died of enlargement of the liver. Gastritis of 45 days duration and nephritis of 3 month's duration. The undertaker was Biggs of Pomeroy. His physician was C.W. Petty of Hartford.
