Note: From his birth registration we see that Ernest William Skitch (who was not present) was a male. His father was John Skitch, a miner, born in Cornwall, England. John was married 26th July 1864 in Bendigo to Frances 23 yrs. The mother was Frances Skitch, formerly Oats, 27 years old, born in Cornwall, England. John Skitch was the informant, and he lived in [it looks like!] "Pig Stye Gully." The witnesses were James Boyd, M.D. and Mrs. Oats at Kangaroo Flats. The Deputy Registrar was George O'Donnell.
Note: April 6th, 1893 was the date of Ernest William Skitch and Alice Le Livre Lee's marriage. He was 24 and she 26. Trade or Calling: Teacher. Name and Surname of Fathers of both Parties: John Skitch and George Lee. Place in which Celebrateed: Wesleyan Church Norwood. The witnesses to the marriage were Robert Gamble [whose occupation is illegible] of Adelaide and Ada Victoria Lee, state school teacher of Kensington.

Note: From Alice's death certificate we learn that she died on 19 January 1939, aged 72 years. She was the wife of Ernest William skitch, retired schoolmaster. Their usual residence was Glynd Road, Tranmere, South Australia, a suburb of Adelaide. She had been born in Tonga, Friendly Islands, but had lived in the Commonwealth for 65 years. She had been 27 years old at the time of her marriage. She had had two male and two female children, all living. She died at home. Cause of death: senility. [Please, people do not die of senility!] C.A. Berry, undertaker of Magill Road, Maylands, was the informant. The registrar was G. G. Burford.

Note: Ernest, a schoolmaster who usually resided at 4 Bowillia Avenue, Lower Mitcham, South Australia, died on 19 February 1957 at the Daw Park Private Hospital, Goodwood Road, Colonel Light Gardens. He was cremated two days later at Centennial Park Crematorium, Springbank. The causes of death were 1) Basal Pneumonia--2 days; 2) Cerebral Thrombosis 9 months; Hemiplegia.
Ernest was a widower aged 88 years, who was 24 at the time of his marriage. He had one deceased male child, one living male and two living females.
