The witnesses to the marriage were Robert Gamble [whose occupation is illegible] of Adelaide and Ada Victoria Lee, state school teacher of Kensington.
Note: Le Lievre is a name associated with the Channel Islands. In 1841 there were various Le Lievre families on both Jersey and Guernsey and possibly in Sark and Alderney as well. It is very likely that Alice's mother's name was Le Lievre.

Note: From Alice's death certificate we learn that she died on 19 January 1939, aged 72 years. She was the wife of Ernest William skitch, retired schoolmaster. Their usual residence was Glynd Road, Tranmere, South Australia, a suburb of Adelaide. She had been born in Tonga, Friendly Islands, but had lived in the Commonwealth for 65 years. She had been 27 years old at the time of her marriage. She had had two male and two female children, all living. She died at home. Cause of death: senility. [Please, people do not die of senility!] C.A. Berry, undertaker of Magill Road, Maylands, was the informant. The registrar was G. G. Burford.
