Note: 1900: George and Mattie have been married for twelve years and have three young daughters: Jennie 8, Alice 6 and Mide 3. George works as a machinist.
1920: George, 55 years, and Mattie, 53 years, had only two children at home: Mide, 23, and Martha, 14. George's occupation was real estate salesman.
1930: After Martha's death, George boarded with William B. and Eliza Metcalfe in Hartford. He was then 63 years old. Also living with the Metcalfes was Eliza's mother, Mary Pierce.
George lists himself variously as blacksmith, miller, merchant and salesman. A notice in 1899 tells that he had gone to Parkersburg to look after the interests of the Cascade Water Filter Business, of which he was the head. He had invented the water filter. He and Martha had seven children.
Note: George Wolf Ginther was 72y 10m 6d at his death; a widower; a retired salesman. His father was John Ginther. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage. He was buried on the 18 of Feb.1938.
