Mrs. Mildred Faye Boggs, 51, wife of Elmer Boggs, and a resident of 479 Jackson Pike, died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday in Holzer hospital. She had been hospitalized since Thursday and had been in failing health for three years.
She was a native of Greenfield twp., and was a lifelong resident of Gallia county. She was born on July 10, 1910, the daughter of Thurman and Mary Ellan McCulgan Shelton.
Mrs. Boggs was married to Elmer Boggs on May 26, 1939 in Gallipolis and he survives along with a daughter, Kathy. Other survivors are two brothers, Luther Shelton of Gallia and Ray Shelton of Gallipolis. A brother, Cecil, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Boggs was a member of the First Baptist church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist church. Dr. Howard G. Young will officiate and burial will be in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens under the direction of the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10:30 p.m. on Thursday.
