Death Notice

Hide Details Note: DEATHS:
SHEPHERD.--On the 10th April, at Mareeba Hospital, Woodville, Rupert Henry Eustace, dearly beloved husband of Susannah C. Shepherd, aged 33 years.

Mr. and Mrs. Shepherd, Sen. of Kilkenny desire to sincerely THANK all Friends and Neighbors for their very kind expressions of sympathy and floral contributions, and for their kind assistance during our Son Rupert's illness and death ‎(which was caused by a motor accident)‎. Also to Thank Dr. Bollen, Sister Love, and Nurses of Mareeba Hospital, Woodville, for their skilful and unremitting attention; and Mr. McArdle for the use of his telephone night and day, and his other acts of kindness.

SEMAPHORE, S.A. ‎(Rev. E.S. Tuckwell, B.A.)‎.

We regret to report the removal, by death, of one of our church members--Mr. Rupert Shepherd, who, after a week's intense suffering, following a burning accident, died on Saturday, April 10th.

Mr. Shepherd came to the Semaphore with his parents when quite a child, and grew up in our church and Sunday School. He became an active member in many departments of the church work, and was held in high esteem by his fellow-members.

He was married to Miss Susie Lloyd, also a prominent worker in the church. Their removal to Kilkenny prevented them from continuing work with us, although they retained their memership.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to both these families in their sudden bereavement, and we commend the widow and three little ones to our Heavenly Father's care, praying that He will bind up the broken heart, and be a father to the fatherless.--L.M.W.
