Note: After Elizabeth Henry Sheets died in 1864, William F. Sheets lived with his Brice H. and Samantha until his death in 1871.
In the 1870 census William was 86 years old. It stated that he had been born in Western Virginia. The state of West Virginia did not exist until after the Civil War.
At the time of the 1900 federal census Brice and Samantha were farming in Guyan township with no children at home! Quite often large farming families had a child or two at home until the parents died - or so it seems.
They had been married for 45 years and would live to see their 50th.
