Uncle Harry was born on Smokey Road, Gallia Co. and lived near his family home when he died. He never married. We used to go to Uncle Harry's place to butcher the hogs every fall. He was a lot of fun to be around and always entertaining to us kids. Harry gave us our first puppy, a collie/shepherd mix that we called "Shep". I can remember our families going to Camden Park in below Huntington, West Virginia for a birthday picnic for G-Grandpa, Daniel Davis. There were so many of us going, that, Uncle Harry put the livestock racks on his big cattle truck and drove us all down there. We sat on bales of straw. He had packed bottles of "pop" in wash tubs and covered them with ice.
