Note: Julia's family lived in Kanawha Co., Virginia (now West Virginia) in 1850. She may have been born there. That is probably where Julia married Mr. Dove about 1866. He died sometime between 1867-68.
Note: 1910: Julia was 67 and Frank was 72. They had been married 40 years. Also living with them was Frank's "aunt" Elizabeth A. Smithers, a childless widow of 62. There was also a servant, Anna Levisey. Julia had had 5 children of whom only 2 were still living.
1920: Frank had died by this time.
1930: Julia had living with her in her First Avenue home, Joe, a son by her second marriage, and his wife, Margaret, and his daughter, Julia. Also there was Lyda Cherrington, her daughter by her first marriage. Lyda was visiting from Colorado where she lived with her second husband, Charles E. Cherrington.
Name Note
Note: Two of Julia's children named their daughters after her, which suggests that she was well-loved and probably an excellent mother herself.
