Note: 1860: Frank, 22, and his brother Eugene, 21, are living with their grandfather, Joseph Devacht, 56. Mary Stone, 62, was their housekeeper. Henry Regnier, a clerk, who was born in Ohio was also living with them. He may also be a grandson. Frank was a clerk, and Eugene was a boat pilot. 1870: Frank, 32, is a clerk on a steamboat. Julia, 28, is keeping house and looking after three-year-old Lida L., her daughter by a previous marriage to a Mr. Dove. Jennie Davis, 18, is their domestic servant. Lida later married Frank Beardsley, a lawyer, and they lived in Charleston, West Virginia.
1880: Frank, 42, is a steamboat clerk and Julia, 38, has three children: Eliza 13, Joseph 9 and Caroline 7. Their servant is Matilda Bashore.
1900: Frank J., 62, and Julia E., 47, have been married for 30 years. Frank's occupation is "landlord." Son Joe, now 19, is a farmer. The address on the side of the census form is "Front Street" which I assume is First Avenue. Their daughter Caroline married Major Clarke Brown in 1892.
1910: Frank and Julia are 72 and 67 years old respectively and have been married for 40 years. They live on First Avenue and have their "own income." Frank's parents were both born in Ohio. Julia's father was born in Ohio, but her mother in West Virginia.
