Note: Eureka, Gallia County, was his postal address, although in the 1860 census it was "South North Castle." In 1860 he and Scholastique had four children at home: William 23, Louisa 20, Armenia 18 and Rowena 14.

Note: Joel was undoubtedly related to this family, but may not have been a son of Andrew and Hannah. I hesitate to delete them as yet because there are so many interesting connections, including the wonderful name of his wife Scholastique Desjardin, and the connection to James Sherman Porter.
Military Service
Note: In the Civil War he served in the 91st Ohio Volunteer Infantry Company B.
