Note: 29 Dec 1845 the family embarked on the ‘Isabella Watson’ for their journey to South Australia.
1 Jan 1846 they were hauled by steam tug to Gravesend. 3 Jan 1846 preparations for sea were finalized and the ship was ready to set sail for Plymouth.
Their 8th child (a daughter) was born whilst the ship was anchored at Gravesend. She was the first child born on the voyage and was named after the ship as was the custom of the day. Isabella Watson Webb 3 Jan 1846 (born Gravesend)
Bad weather delayed their arrival in Plymouth and they anchored in Plymouth Sound 12 Jan 1846 where they took on board sheep, pigs, cows, poultry and more emigrants.
They finally set sail for South Australia 18 Jan 1846 and arrived at Port Adelaide 14 May 1846
