...My mother's maiden name was Doig and her father's people belong to the MacGregor clan. Most of her kinsfolk are in the eastern states, particularly Victoria. They have been settled a long time in the Wangaratta district where they were pioneers. Once when I was visiting the Murdochs at Milawa, I attended a little Presbyterianan church out of deference to the custom of my hosts. I found that practically all of the congregation were related. On an honour board in this church were inscribed the names of a number of people of whom I had heard a little, but had never met - Fergusons, Robertsons, Murdochs, Doigs and others....
