Dr. McClung was chif of Pediatric Gastroenterology of Children's Hospital for 30 years. He was a 1963 graduate of West virginia University and a 1967 graduate of West Virginia Medical School. He served an internship and residency at the University of Wisconsin, was a member of the US Army Medical Corps and a resident at the Hospital for sick Children in Toronto, California. He received a Life-time achievement award for pioneer work on Rhys Syndrome and Pediatric Gastroenterology. He had a profound influence on many medical students, residents, and fellows rsulting from his teaching for over 35 years. His care and commitment to his patients and their families was unsurpassed. In addition to his tireless efforts at Children's Hospital, he was a bird lover, gardener, a Renaissance man. He avildy supported Dawes Arboretum and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. As a fairful member of Mifflin Presbyterian Church, he enjoyed adult Christian Education and taught many classes. He was a revered physician, a devoted and loving husband, a wonderful and caring father, dear friend and mentor. His kindness and humor will be remembered and missed.
