Note: In 1900 Charles and Kate lived in Columbus, Ohio, where Charles was a blacksmith. His wife's Prussian mother, Elizabeth Grissen, was living with them. I hope that she enjoyed the company of her young grandsons William and Frank.
In 1920 the Heslops are still living in Columbus, apparently in German Village on the south side. Charles 62 years is a blacksmith with a transfer company. Kate is 57 and claims that she was born in Ohio; but both of her parents were born in Germany. [I wonder if she was born in Germany.]
The Heslops own their home with a mortgage.
Their son Frank and his family live next door. Frank 28 years is a mail carrier for the post office, while his wife Flora 26 years has four children at home, including a new-born baby, who is yet unnamed. The other three children were Catherine seven, Charles W. five and Norma S. two.
