POINT PLEASANT PUBLIC SCHOOLS Miss Bertha Steinbach, Principal November 22, 1907 Board of Education W. H. Howard, President J.W.C. Heslop
My dear Miss Nannie: ....we are sorry that you are not well enough to be with us, and we sincerely hope that it may not be long before you can be with you little ones again. So far, things have gone along quite nicely, but the children are anxiously awaiting your return. Miss Nora says that her pupils ask about you every day. Indeed, the children all over the building are more interested in you than you can imagine. ...The teachers all ask to be remembered to you and join with me in wishing for you a speedy recovery. Your sincere friend, Bertha Steinbach
Biographical Notes
Note: Nannie Heslop was 38 years old and living at home with her parents and three siblings in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, at the time of the 1920 federal census. Her father was a machinst, and brother Bob was a book keeper, but Nannie, Aurilla and Bill were not given occupations. I believe that Nannie was in fact a teacher.
