Note: They got their license and were married by Andrew G. Grinnan on the 19th of Sept 1900. Hugo Juhling of Mason County and Martha Heslop of Mason County. He was 27, she 22. Both born in Mason and living in Mason Co. Charles Juhling gave the information for the license, maybe that's why he didn't use Martha's middle name of Lemuel, or maybe she didn't like it. They were married in Pt Pleasant by Andrew G. Grinnan, a Minister of the Gospel of the Episcopal Church.
Note: Hugo took charge of his father's New Haven store in 1899. The next year he was married to Martha Heslop, daughter of John William Crofts Heslop and Aurilla Jarrott Heslop. Aurilla was born in Malden, (West) Virginia and John William Crofts Heslop was born in Pomeroy, Ohio. From there he went to Mason and finally to Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Hugo moved to Hartford, West Virginia, at the death of his brother Charles and took over his store in 1943.
Hugo and his wife Martha Jarrott had one daughter, Florence, who was a school teacher. She married A.K. McClung of Greenbrier County. A.K. was educated at West Virginia University to be a mining engineer, but went into the mercantile business in Hartford, West Virginia. They had two sons, Keith, a lawyer and Juhling, a doctor.
