Shep's Place Family Tree

Chapman J. Nida was very close to his cousins who moved to Ohio. He visited them before the war; and according to the Ohio family, was not wholly in sympathy with the idea of the South seceeding.

On his return to Craig Co., Virginia, however, he decided to enlist in the Confederate Army. He was killed in the battle of Cloia Farm.

Chapman had one child, James W. Nida, who later lived in Gallia Co., Ohio. His other children may have remained in East Virginia.
