Note: The Robertsons reached Port Jackson (Sydney) on December 24,1852 as cabin passengers with their three year old son Joseph and a woman servant, by the "General Hewitt", this ship's second voyage to New South Wales. They were at Ipswich, Queensland for a short time then settled at Sydney. No dates concerning Jane or William are available but they are mentioned in their son's obituary. RRS told his son Keith that Joseph was his first cousin and his only relative in South Australia.
