He married but his wife's name was among the unanswered queries EMS made to the family. John died 1909 aged 55 and was buried with his mother at Machpelah Cemetery. His son, another John left New York with wife and child for California, 1919, to join his aunt Mrs. Chesnex, No further contact was made with the New York Burns.
