Shep's Place Family Tree

Thomas Alexander and his wife Elizabeth were the original Alexander family in this section. He entered land in Letart Township in 1803, being one of the early landowners of this township. As they were both well advanced in years, neither of them was permitted to enjoy their home many years. He died in 1808 and she died in 1809. They are both buried in Letart Falls Cemetery with many of their descendants.

We are unable to find anything about their family but one son William who married Susan Love of Letart, Ohio. Their children Thomas married Kate Finney; Henry married Elizabeth Dougherty; Wright married Florence ‎(Tote)‎ Sayre; John married a Miss Hayman; William married Charlotte ‎(Tote)‎ Hayman; Emma married Joseph Ball; Georgianna married Jacob Beckler; Julia married Jefferson Bell; Cynthia married John Price; Regina married Mr. Slemeker then Mr. Edwards; Fannie Mr. DeGolley.

Moses married Jane Smith. the children David married Rachel Roloff then Essie Middleswart; Mary married Jack Cook; Daniel married __Roloff sister of Rachel; Thomas married Alice Sayre; Julia married David O. Hopkins; Mary married Albert Woodruff; Isabel married Daniel Bibbee. David O. Hopkin's son, David, was killed by Arthur J. Smart at Racine, Ohio, in an argument.

Alfred B. Alexander married Kate Finney. Children Paul married Alberta Balser; Dora married Earl Grimm; Ruth married William O. Barnitz; Carl married a woman in Pennsylvania.
