Hide Details Note: 1880: Harry was at home on the farm with his mother Jane and brother George. He worked on a boat. Perhaps it was the "Hummingbird" riverboat. From an old log boat, we know that in 1878 he was in Augusta, Kentucky, helping with the "Hummingbird".

1910: H.M. was 64 years old and a general farmer. His wife Elizabeth was 60; and their daughter Gladys was 22 and single ‎(born Ohio)‎. Gladys was a school teacher.

1920: H.M. Alexander, 73, born Ohio ‎(as were his parents)‎ and Elizabeth Alexander, 69, born in West Virginia ‎(as were her parents)‎. He was a general farmer.

‎(There are many inconsistencies amongst the census records but these snapshots, brief and flawed as they are, build an interesting picture of life's journey over the decades.)‎
