Note: Martin's death certificate says that he was born in Mason County. If it is true that his father, Major Brown, had been in WV ‎(Va)‎ for 45 years at the time of his death in 1887, then Martin could well have been born in Mason Co. WV. It gives his occupation: pilot. He was 51 years old when he died of enlargement of the liver. Gastritis of 45 days duration and nephritis of 3 month's duration. The undertaker was Biggs of Pomeroy. His physician was C.W. Petty of Hartford.
