Dies in Columbus
Mrs. Maude Burnett Fite, wife of William W. Fite and native of the Mercerville neighborhood, died Friday at her home 24471/2 W. Broad St., Columbus. She was a daughter of the late W.R. Burnett and a retired beautician and was 60 years old.
Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the O.R. Woodyard funeral home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Fite had long been in poor health, a sufferer from diabetes and heart trouble. Her last visit here was for the funeral of her brother, Truman Burnett, last year.
She is survived by, besides her husband, a son Richard Boster, Columbus; three sisters, Mrs. Goldie Niday of Gallipolis; Mrs. Frank Stevers of Columbus, and Mrs. Stanley Thornton of Crown City R.; two brothers, Ralph and Gory M. Burnett, the latter having retired from the navy and made his home in California.
Mrs. Niday left this morning for Columbus and other members of her family will go later to attend the funeral.
Mrs. Fite was a lovely character and a great favorite among her kinfolk and her old acquaintances hereabouts.
