Shep's Place Family Tree

We know from English census reports that Henry's wife Emily Kingham Taylor and their children did not join him in 1876, although some of his children joined him later. Emily and their daughter Maude died about 1890 in Luton. Sometime later in South Australia Henry married Hannah Carter, daughter of William Heppard and Jane Holland Carter. Henry and Hannah had a son named Horace Willoughby Taylor.

In fact Henry and Hannah were living in London at the time of the 1901 English census. Their home was at 24 Hitherfield Road in Streatham. Henry's occupation stated "Late builder--out of business." Hannah's occupation was "Own account." With them were four daughters plus Horace. The girls were Florence 21, by Henry's first marriage; Lillian A. 19; Nellie G. 15; Ethel 12 plus Horace aged seven. All of the children but Florence were born in South Australia. Horace, Ethel and Nellie were "Scholars."
